However when one adds the Los Angeles figure of 49,164 and the Norwood figure of 184,735 one gets 233,899. This results in 1,248 total 1968 Camaros not accounted for via plant production totals. Percentages per plant are calculated on the 233,899 figure.

Caveats and Disclaimers:

The numbers shown are reported last VINs from each plant per month.

  1. It is not known what day, or time of day, of the month was used as a cutoff time/day for the monthly production reporting.
  2. It is not known if the same system was used for both plants.
  3. It is not known where in the production process GM recorded this data.
  4. Vehicles were NOT assembled in the exact order of VIN. For any given VIN selected as the nominal "last" for that month, it is likely that slightly lower or higher VINs might either still be in process, or might have already been assembled.
  5. The cowl tag was attached 3-4 days before final assembly of the car was completed and build week dates did not always align exactly with calendar weeks.
