Note the difference in the two types of gas caps. The lower photo is believed to be original while the upper photo is believed to be an aftermarket or Chevrolet accessory gas cap.

Rally Sport (RS) [RPO Z22]

An appearance only option that consists of concealed headlights (requiring) a different grille and centered RS emblem, back-up lights under the rear bumper and included the Z21 style trim package. A different front valance panel with the front parking lamps/turn signals mounted in the valance instead of the grille.

Super Sport (SS) [RPO L48 or L35]

The SS option could be ordered as a stand-alone package or in conjunction with the RS option.  When ordered with the RS option, the SS badging took precedence.

Note the only real change up front is the SS badging on the grille.

Front fenders got SS badging along with the gas cap.

Note the stripes shown here are incorrect for this car.

When both the RS and SS options are combined, the RS features like hide-away headlamps, rear taillights, back-up lights, etc. are featured but badging of the SS takes precedence over the RS badging.
